Are You Ready For The Summer? ^.^

Sat May 31, 2008, 12:15 PM
Greetings all! Yes, I know it's been a while, but like I've mentioned before, I normally don't like to update unless I have something TO update, and sadly...I haven't had much to update...especially on the fanart. Personally, when I joined here, I didn't know how much of a b#@ch it was going to be to try get people to do commissions or even fanart for you. It's going on a year now since I've joined, and I honestly thought that by now, I would have had lots and lots of pics of my original story....pics of the many characters I have, scenery, fight scenes...stuff like that. But I've found out something here that kind of brought me down...unless you're "popular" here or do drawings yourself, no one gives a hoot about what you write. People just want to see pics...mostly fanart from anime or some pop culture literature book like Harry Potter. Original characters and novels don't do very well here, and while I'm a bit disappointed by that, I'm still not giving up. I did get at least ONE commission coming up from a good artist, and while she maybe taking a while, I understand because she's really going through alot with school and moving. :thanks:

Which of course brings me to another subject here I've found out about Deviant Art. The discovery of snobby, rude, disrespectful, "I'll ignore everyone who comments or notes me on my art and asks me for commissions and request because I'm TOO busy to bother with anyone!" artists here. Yes, that's right, I'm talking about YOU, and you know who you are, so I won't mention any names. I'm not going to give a long rant about how rude they are and how they think they are God's gift to people....they are not worth my time or good conscious...but I do want to say to them that I HAVE met some really nice people here, people here to actually take time to say "thank you" for comments on their art, people who take the time to respectfully say they are not able to do commissions or requests because of legitimate reasons, and there are ALOT more quality artists here than there are of @$$holes like you. So the whole world isn't going to end if you don't do fanart for some people and you only pick and choose, so go stuff yourself, okay? :finger: *takes a deep breath* Sorry everyone, I don't normally like to curse, but sometimes you have to let it out before it consumes you. ^^; Anyway, like I said, a commission is coming up, and everyone will see it when it's done.

Now, since because only fanfictions do well here, I've decided that MAYBE over the next few days, I'm going to start uploading my Sailor Sirius fanfiction. Yes, I'm sure you all know by now that I'm the author and creator of Sailor Sirius, which can be found here:

Not much of a graphics filled page, but I believe in keeping things simple...less is more. :giggle: So if you'd like to see the Sailor Sirius fanfictions up on here, let me know. ;) Okay, since I've last updated, I've seen some movies that I thought I'd share my thoughts on. The first would be Iron Man. It's no surprise at how well it did in the box-office....Robert Downey's portrayal of a womanizing, overly-rich spoiled daddy's boy was very much close to his personal life, and it really showed. I enjoyed the movie very much. It had alot of action when it needed to, good dialouge, and the plotline actually made sense.

The next movie would be Speed Racer. I had SUCH high hopes for this movie, because I remember my mom telling that while she was growing up overseas in her country, she remembered when the original Japanese version first came out, and how it was such a success in just about every country, not just hers. I've only seen a few of the episodes myself and thought it was AWESOME! But the movie...well, let's just say that sometimes, Hollywood doesn't use the "less is more" philosophy. While the storyline was somewhat decent, the movie relied too much on graphics, too much of the dazzling effects and how much money it used to let us really understand and relate to the characters. I really wished they could have used REAL cars, with REAL roads and tracks to race in, like in Fast And The Furious and Initial D. So...an okay movie, just too much on the eyes. ^^;

Prince Caspian...another movie I had such high hopes in. While the movie was visually stunning, and with more characters and actions scenes that the first movie, it somewhat lacked the magic, the rhythm, and the time that made the first part of the Chronicles Of Narnia so well loved. I would have liked to get to know the new characters more, to relate to them, but everyone was so busy fighting and storming castles, there just wasn't time. It was just a bit TOO fast-paced. Hopefully The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader would slow things down a bit.

I thought that Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was a pretty decent follow-up to the last Indiana Jones movie...which wasn't THAT good in my opinion. Harrison Ford still proved he can kick butt when he had to, and use that awesome whip! :D But still, it wasn't up to parr with the original Indiana Jones movie...Raiders Of The Lost Ark. There were certain scenes in it that was just too ridiculous to believe, even for a movie. But I still liked it, and Shia Lebeouf was a wonderful addition to the team.

So...that's about it with me. Since it's just about June 1st...and unofficially the start of Summer, I want to wish every decent person here a safe and happy Summer! :w00t!: Hopefully next time I'll have the commission and a few more pics of Dark Fires up. To everyone who DID give me feedback and read my chapters...thank you so much, I really appreciate that. You've showed me that there ARE decent people here. :) Thanks all, and I'll be back! :glomp:

Taking commissions, details here, [link]
Aww. I was hoping you would love it. I know i did. I guess i was more into the graphics than the actual movie itself. And not to mention that I was super dazed at seeing Rain in the movie

But Im seriously counting the days for "The Frog Princess" too make its big movie debut :D

 I noticed the same thing with all of the people at DA and the difficulty with posting anything original on this DA. It does take a while to build up and just one year is not enough. :/ Don't give up!:aww:

I'm not surprised by the problems with Indiana Jones movie and I was actually worried about any "stupid" parts.
There are a lot of stupid things about the crystal skulls out there and there is only one authentic Crystal Skull that I know of so far.
The guys at Hollywood really need to take some science classes!
Thanks, I definitely won't give up! ;) I just don't take it personally anymore, that's all. Well, there were just a couple of "stupid" parts, but at least it didn't overwhelm the whole movie itself. Nothing wrong with just a bit of humor. :aww: As for science class...while I agree that Hollywood needs toresearch, I kind of like that they use some imagination rather than just "proof" and "facts". Science answers many questions, but science is not the ONLY answer to questions. Many things happen that can't be explained by science, and that's okay with me. I believe more in using common sense than just the cold, logical science. There's nothing wrong with using common sense AND science. But thanks again!
i'd gladly draw commisions for you for free but i have no scanner but i think i can figure something out.

No no, I DID like the movie! :aww: It just had too much graphics and special effects for me to take it too seriously, you know? Oh and yes, Rain was SOOOOOOOOO good in it. :giggle: I check every day on news about The Princess And The Frog! So far, they have already have their cast and are doing principle animation now. Should be good! :D
Awwww, thank you, that would be the sweetest! :D
Glad to see you too! :D  Yep, I'm ready for any test!
I'd offer my commissions, but the only commission I'm doing at the moment is custom plushies for $35 plus depending on how difficult the character is, materials used and so on.
