I can't believe I didn't realize this before!!

Tue Mar 3, 2009, 5:50 PM
Hey everyone, just me again. :aww: Okay, I've been going through my old files the other day, just familiarizing myself again with my fave Sailor Sirius pics and checking over the Sailor Sirius fanfictions when something hit me...something that surprised me so much, it might as well have been a truck hitting me! :faint: I just realized that it's been 12 years...that's right, 12 YEARS since I first wrote the Sailor Sirius Chronicles. :omg: I remember it like it was yesterday...on January 18th, 1997, after months of reworking and modifying the character of Sailor Sirius, I dared myself to sit down and write the first chapter of the Sailor Sirius Chronicles. I can't believe how YOUNG I was then, how much of a silly, whacky, kid I was and a new fan of this totally unique, amazing, and mesmerizing anime called Sailor Moon. After watching a few episodes of it (mind you, I thought it was an AMERICAN show because of the English dub), I thought to myself.."Hey, I can make up a character like that!" But when I looked on the internet, there were already otaku (fan) Sailor Senshi made...but they were all almost alike. They were either blonde or red-head, perfect, and either from America or Canada. I wanted someone different from them, someone from a background and country no one has thought about, so after months of brainstorming...behold, Sailor Sirius was born. :D

I'm so proud that I held on to Sailor Sirius as long as I did. I've seen many fan senshi appear and disappear...fanfictions started and never finished, and I'm so happy I never did that. I don't profess that Sailor Sirius was better than any other fan-created senshi, but I do deserve to be pleased with myself that I stuck with the fanfiction, finished her story, and while Sailor Sirius did not get as popular and get as much acknowledgment and comments as I hoped, at least her story was told, at least she lasted as long as she did. :thanks: So yeah, I'm very proud of myself. :excited: But I couldn't have done it alone. Thanks, those of you who did take the time to read her story, to tell me what you liked, what you thought I could have improved on and changed. Thanks to those of you who didn't remain silent and spoke up. You guys showed a majority very few in the Sailor Moon community have. Because of you, Sailor Sirius became much better than what I could have thought of alone. You guys know who you are. ;) There were many times I've wanted to give up, to scrap it all because I thought I was doing something wrong. At times, the silence was deafening, but you guys...the ones who wrote me about Sailor Sirius, pulled me out of my slump. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. :worship:

Okies, besides Sailor Sirius, I do have a bit of The Princess And The Frog news. :w00t!: There's a new description of a scene from the movie, and it's about how Prince Naveen was turned into a frog. You can read about it here:

There are also some updates on some new Princess And The Frog products (toys and plushies), costumes, and a new clip art of Tiana and Naveen. Naveen looks so cute, and he looks like a fun-filled guy! Check out the links here:

How nonstalogic... :) Yes, it is rare for someone to hold on their otaku characters and here you have Tanya becoming more known in DA. :)

Even my website is about to be 10 years old...

I miss sugar-free cherry Kool-aid... they stopped selling those. :crying:

I remember having a similar epiphany when I made my journal about PSE making 13 years! This year it'll be 14 years old! WOW! Many people made Senshi and left, but only a few of us held on tight to our creations. Isn't it awesome!

That's great! You reminded me of when I created my first otaku senshi about 8 years ago (8 already!), Sailor Star ([link]), together with her cousins Sun and Earth. I actually did write their story and had planned two more seasons xD But then I left the otaku senshi world and came back sporadically, until two years ago. Meanwhile, I still created some senshi (check out my senshi list in my journal if you want), most of which remained simply a design.

I was very fond of your Sirius, she was one of the first otaku senshi I ever found out about, together with Sakky's Sailor Astera and Tory's Sailors Earth and Utopia. I also liked very much a couple of artists' senshi, but both girls left the otaku senshi world, too. :(

And as far as my otaku senshi story goes... I've been trying to write the fanfic about my Sirius senshi, but everyday I want to include more things and take out some others, so it's impossible that I finish writing it in a more or less decent period of time XD (You can read up to chapter four at fanfiction.net: [link]).

Wow, that was a long post XD

No worries, I like long posts. :aww: I'll be sure to check out your story on Fanfiction.net. Yes, I know it's hard to write, but if I want to make sure my story is told, I have to tough it out, and MAKE time for myself and story. I think I do remember your Sailor Star! She's really cute. :aww: But yes, please keep up the wonderful work, you're so talented! :cuddle:
:iconrose74:
Thank you!! :w00t!: Oh my gosh, I can't believe how much time has flown by. I swear, it doesn't feel like time has passed at all when it comes to Sailor Sirius. :) I'm glad I stuck with her. :thanks:
:iconrose74:
*screams in delight* AHHHH! Tory-chan, Tory-chan! :glomp: Where have you BEEN? :D I missed you much! How's everything? Good I hope. Yes, it's totally awesome, I'm so happy I stuck with Sailor Sirius. :) No kidding, 14 years? WOW! :omg:I knew you were around when I first started Sailor Sirius, but I didn't know you made her before Sirius. :aww: Say, Are you going to post Moshi's story here? I hope so! :excited:
:iconrose74:
Oh thank you!! I have to admit, you're one of the people that motivated me to keep with Sailor Sirius, and for that, I thank you! ;) Ack, I never liked sugar-free! Better real sugar than those chemical sugar-substitute.

:glomp:

Moshi was up and on the web Sept 25, 1995 on my school's web account. After I graduated and left, life caught up with me.

I'd left the SM community for about 2 years, but just left the webpages up. Then I got my own domain about 3 years ago and moved everything over there. Upon returning, I was finding major theft all over the place. It became so bad, I had to shut my gallery down!

I'm still touchy about the theft, so I might not post it here. I just left a link up in my profile and my sig.

I'd found the Tower of Time and that got me back into the community and now I'm editing again!
