Hey everyone! Surprised to see me update so soon? Well, so am I, but there's a reason...I have a REALLY big announcement I want to share with everyone. *takes a deep breath*

Okay, I don't know if you all have heard of the HOT bestseller, Wicked Lovely, and it's sequels, the latest being Radiant Shadow. It's a Young Adult series, and basically it's sort of like Twilight, but with fairies. That's right, fairies. I'm not the biggest fan of fairies,(although I do like them better than vampires) but so far, I'm excited to know that this series is doing tremendously well, and is even poised to knock Twilight off the shelves...which I don't mind at all. In a nutshell, a young girl can see fairies, which she's NOT supposed to; as a matter of fact, NO human is supposed to see fairies. And these kind of fairies are certainly not your cartoony, happy-go-lucky Tinkerbell or the other fairies from Disney...they are dangerous beings, and find pleasure in seriously messing with humans. Anyway, she can see them, and all of a sudden, the king of the fairies falls in love with her and wants her to become Fairy Queen and help him restore the Kingdom Of Fairy. The only thing is, the girl is in love with her best friend, a young man and schoolmate named Seth, who loves her too. The big question is...who should she choose? Who does she really love? Human Seth..the boy who's been there for her from since she can remember and adores her, or the absolutely hunky and sexy Fairy King, Keenan, who she is more and more drawn too and can't stop thinking about? Decisions, decisions.

Now, the reason I'm tell you all this is because the author of the series, Melissa Marr, and HarperTeen...the publisher, is holding a contest on the best prose or stories, and whoever wins,  the author herself will go over the prose, find tune it, and actually help with getting it published. And guess what......I ENTERED my story, The Dark Fires Of Cyphyrus! That's right, I entered a contest! Normally I don't enter contests, because I just have bad luck with them. But I have a feeling about this. Another reason is that I'm not having much luck with getting literary agents being interested in my story. One of the biggest reasons is that since most publishers and agents are in New York City, and I can't personally go there myself anytime I want and talk to them about my vision for my stories....not while I'm stuck in a small, backwoods Pennsylvania town. *sigh* I really wish I was back home in New York, but that'll come in time, and if I win this contest, my dreams of becoming an established author with a wonderful story will be closer than ever.
