Merry (belated) Christmas everybody!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family, friends, and loved ones. Although it's not my favorite holiday, I love Christmas for getting family together and just remember and reflect how the year went. In remembering the past year, we remember the good, the bad, and learn from our mistakes. I know I've learned a lot about myself this past year.
Anyway, I got my grades back from my first semester in college, and I got three A's...and one C in college algebra.
You know, thinking about it, I'm actually okay with the C. I told myself from since being accepted in college that I was not going to kill myself getting an A in math. That would just drive my crazy. I know that I was never good in math...and after not being in school and NOT taking any math classes for 13 years...I think a C is pretty damned good, don't you?
But anyway, I have one more math class to take before I can graduate in May 2013, and I've learned what I did wrong this past semester. I'm definitely going to take advantage of tutoring much earlier than I did before, and next time, I'll hopefully get a least a B. That would be cool. So year, I did pretty well this semester, and I'm very proud of myself.
Christmas went pretty well with me...I spent time with my mom, brother, sister, and just mostly relaxed. I didn't get to do that much while in school, so it was good to do so. New Year's was low key...I was feeling a bit under the weather so I just went to bed and skipped the whole "watch the ball drop countdown". I could always do that next year...if there is a next year.
My New Year's resolution is to just graduate college next year and be able to finally move out of this dump of a town here. If I can have that, nothing else matters.
Does anyone else have any resolutions? Please share.
So that's about it with me. I did get to see War Horse and The Adventures Of Tin Tin: Secret Of The Unicorn. War Horse was an amazing movie depicting WWI through the eyes of a thoroughbred horse named Joey. Being a great lover of history, I know wars are nothing to be taken lightly...lives are lost, homes destroyed, lifestyles wiped out forever, But this movie also showed a bit of light shining through in such a dark time as WWI, and I was glad for the message it sent. Even when we are going through the toughest of times, we have to believe that there is still a bit of human kindness found in the most unlikely of places. We just have to believe...and see it with our hearts.
Tin Tin: Secret Of The Unicorn was just an amazing, fantastic movie!
I loved the story, the characters, and the dialogue. It started out just a bit slow, but it soon picked up for a action-packed adventure I was glad to first know as a comic series then a cartoon. I really hope they make sequels. Plus.....Tin Tin was pretty darn cute.
My fave character would have to be Captain Haddock. I just couldn't stop laughing whenever he did something funny! I also like him because my great-grandfather was a merchant seaman, and I was told he had a beard like Haddock and a bit of a drinker....but still had a big heart and very boisterous.
I can almost imagine my great-grandfather being similar to him.
I also want to share some awesome trailers that I thought you guys might like;
The first one is The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which takes place up to 60 years BEFORE the events of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy:[link]
Definitely seeing that.
The next is Marvel's The Avengers:[link]
SOOOO seeing that!
Okay, next up is Underworld: Awakening: [link]
Yeah, Stephanie Meyers could take a few lessons from this. Now THIS is a vampire/werewolf movie with no fairy, sparkling vampires.
Alright, next is the insanely popular Hunger Games, which has finally officially become a movie: [link]
Admittedly I don't know too much about the Hunger Games, but it seems really interesting, so I must check it out. Alright, last but not least is a new, unique twist to the Snow White story, dealing more with the relationship between Snow White and the Huntsman. So here is it, Snow White And The Huntsman:[link]
Too cool. Alright, so that's it with me. I hope everyone has big hopes and dreams for the New Year, because I sure do.
Oh, and I'm still looking for anyone who has the time and willing to do any commissions and requests for me. Please note me!
Many blessings to you all, and take care until next time!
