Hi hi folks, what's the haps?

I know it's been a while, but I was waiting until the contest I was in ended so I can hear news about how I did. As far as I can tell, the writing contest on the Wicked Lovely website has ended, but a winner hasn't been selected. I did check the votes, and I don't think I did too bad. I think there close to or at least over 400 entries, and from what I can see, I think I came in about 25th or 30th place. Not too bad for that amount of entries. I'm proud of myself.

It was stiff competition, but at least I didn't come in dead last, I was amoung the ones that got the higher votes. I wouldn't have made it that far if it wasn't for you guys...those of you who voted for me. Thank you SO much!

As soon as I hear more news, I'll be sure to let you know.
Okay, now for something I haven't done in a while....movie previews!

Alright, first up is the third sequel to the AMAZING series of The Chronicles Of Narnia. It's called Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, and it looks to be FANTASTIC.

In the original novel, Peter and Susan never go back to Narnia after The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian, but it seems as though they do make a quick cameo in the movie from what I see at the end of this trailer. I'm SO in love with this series, and it's wonderful to know that it's still remembered and loved.

Take a look at the exciting trailer:
[link]Next, I'm sure you all know that the exciting ending to the groundbreaking series and movies, Harry Potter, is coming up. According to news, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows will be split up in two parts, the first one said to be coming out in November, and the second part next year July. I could be wrong. But at any rate, the Harry Potter series was a WILD ride, and I loved nearly every moment of it. Harry Potter was such an inspiration to me in deciding that I myself wanted to be an author and let other people enjoy my ideas and characters. But all great things do come to an end, and I'm sure Deathly Hallows will be a wonderful ending to an amazing story.

Please check out the first official trailer here:
[link]Finally, this even came as a surprise to ME.

When I first heard about it, I thought it was a joke, but obviously, it wasn't.

They actually made a movie version of the well-beloved 1980's cartoon series, The Smurfs. Since I'm a little older than some members here, I remember getting up on Saturday mornings when I was little (back when they used to show GOOD Saturday morning cartoons...

Oh how I miss thee, 1980's...

) and being so eager to watch another adventure of those lovable little blue elves!

Please check out the amazing teaser trailer here:
[link]I hope you enjoyed those trailers.

I also started my Summer job...which I was hoping to get, so I don't think I'll be doing much more edits..at least for now, but I'll try. Nothing else much new with me. I did get to see M. Night Shalayman's The Last Airbender, and while it wasn't the greatest movie, and there were things that could have been done better...especially the edits, it wasn't horrible. It was actually kind of enjoyable, with great graphics and fights I can only dream of doing.

My only thing is that I wish it wasn't just a rehash of the cartoon series. I wish this movie could have been a continuation of what happened AFTER the series ended...maybe even the possiblity that a year or so after the series ended, Aang and the rest of the gang find a clue that somehow, a small, secret group of Airbenders existed!!

They could have been the descendants of the children of the Airbenders who was wiped out by the Fire Nation, but these children were hidden away in secret. Oh well, perhaps one day.
Speaking of which, lately there's been a lot of "bashing" of The Last Airbender, and while I agree there were some changes that didn't really fit (like why did they change the pronounciation of Aang to Ong? What's up with that?

), I certainly didn't think it was "horrible, terrible, and made me laugh and walk out the theater" as some people have been saying. To all the artists that's been bashing and ripping The Last Airbender apart, do you all really think it makes you look cool to ridicule a movie? Do you think it makes you all "popular" and "amazing" because you think just because it didn't get the most favorable reviews, you have to agree with those uncalled for reviews with your drawings? And to all of the commenters that agree with the artist that do that....the same with you, do you think you look any cooler or smarter to agree with them, like "OH MY GOSH, you are so right, I hated The Last Airbender too, because you said you hated it! You're so cool and popular here, I'll agree with everything you say, because I'm so totally brainless and follow the leader!" Face it, you make as much of a fool of yourself as the artists do. So get over it. You all have no idea just what goes into make a movie, even one that wasn't all that good...the amount of time for planning, equipment, script revision, dealing with the actors, dealing with the weather, payroll..all that stuff. All you care about is that the movie is made the way YOU just want it, in YOUR limited vision, in YOUR way. Get...Over....Yourselves.

Anyway, I'll stop there, I don't want to go on ranting and raving.

I've also started my third original novel, An Angel's Prayer (formerly Angel Beat) and so far, it's been getting great reviews...despite my typos.

Thank you all, those of you who were mature and respectful enough to take the time to read. I really appreciate it, more than anything.

And a big congratulations to Spain for winning the World Cup!

GO ESPANA!! I was actually hoping Holland would win, but I guess the best team won.

I hope everyone else in having a great Summer, and please stay tuned for more great art and chapters!
